About Andrew Schwab
Andrew Schwab is the Founder & CEO of Platform Government Strategies, a strategic health policy, advocacy, and messaging firm helping healthcare organizations navigate Washington, DC and engage policymakers effectively.
Andrew brings more than 20 years of experience at the center of national health policy, spanning senior leadership roles in government affairs, federal advocacy, and public policy across government, nonprofit, and publicly traded healthcare organizations.
From 2021 to 2023, Andrew served as Vice President and Head of Government Affairs at Oak Street Health, where he established the company’s first government affairs function and led federal and state engagement strategy during a period of rapid growth culminating in the company’s $10.6 billion acquisition by CVS Health. In this role, he helped preserve the CMMI ACO REACH Model, supported Medicare Advantage policy development, and advanced initiatives focused on improving care delivery.
Previously, Andrew served as Director of Policy, Federal Affairs & Partnerships at United States of Care, where he was part of the organization’s leadership team developing and advancing federal healthcare policy initiatives. He worked closely with policymakers and healthcare leaders to elevate innovative care models and strengthen federal engagement.
Andrew also served as Chief of Advocacy at the Alliance of Community Health Plans, where he helped secure the 10-year reauthorization of the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), preserve Medicaid financing, and advance Medicare Advantage reimbursement for telehealth services. Earlier in his career, he held a senior legislative and advocacy role at AARP, where he led federal advocacy on Medicare Advantage, Affordable Care Act implementation, employer coverage, Medigap and value-based care.
Andrew began his career in public service as Deputy Press Secretary to U.S. Senator Jon Corzine and later served for seven years as Chief of Staff to the Chairman of the New Jersey Legislature’s Financial Institutions and Insurance Committee. In that role, he helped pass 23 laws, contributed to state budget development, and passed nationally significant healthcare policy initiatives.
Andrew founded Platform Government Strategies to provide healthcare organizations with senior-level advocacy strategy, policy positioning, and messaging support grounded in real-world federal policy experience.
He holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Policy Studies and History from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs and a Master of Public Administration from Rutgers University.
